Hi, I'm Amy, the heart and soul behind 'My Mindful Self'.
My Mindful Self encompasses my love and experience of nature connection as well as my personal and self-reflective wellbeing journey through mindfulness, meditation and spirituality.
With a focus on personal wellbeing and matrescence, I aim to help you prioritise self-care amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life.
As a child, I loved spending time in nature and had a real interest in wildlife. I remember finding a slow worm in my garden and taking it to school to show everyone... who knew I would continue to follow up my love of nature in my career!
In 2017, I felt my world go upside-down; I didn't fit in my role anymore, there was more to me than this. Looking back now, this was my spiritual awakening! I signed up to a mindfulness and meditation course which opened my eyes to so many new tools to support myself and others, and trained as a Relax Kids Coach offering mindfulness and relaxation activities to children. I have continued to develop and expand my holistic knowledge since then.
To date, I have a 15 year background in environmental education, with 5 years spent as the Education & Youth Officer at the New Forest National Park Authority. This experience has given me firsthand knowledge of the profound benefits nature can have on wellbeing.
Having two young children, I have an understanding and a particular interest in the perinatal period and there is a dedicated section to support the journey of matrescence (becoming a mother).
I have recently completed training as a Forest Bathing Practitioner and my aim is to support the local community in the Waterside and the New Forest.
