Summer Vibes

Summer vibes!
Using your senses can really transform how you feel!
....The warmth of the sun on your face
... The smell of coconuts from the gorse drifting in the breeze
... The gentle breeze touching your skin
Feeling at peace

Ruby Elf Cup

This week on our wellbeing walk we spotted a Ruby Elf Cup, this is the fruiting part of the fungi which can be seen between November and March.
It led us to discuss how when we see one thing, we then see more of them.  Law of attraction at its finest.

What thought are you thinking that you are attracting? This could be positive or negative... if it's the latter, it may be worth changing the dialogue.

Pooh Sticks

You're not too old to play pooh sticks!

Muddy Feet

I plan and risk assess the routes so you don't have to...
...sometimes I do get muddy feet when checking or planning a route...
so it's back to the drawing board to ensure we are taking the safest route on the day

You've got this!

Have you ever noticed how different places make you feel?
Every time I walk down this pathway, I feel like I'm standing just a little taller, a little more confident, a little more me!
This photo captures the true essence of our Wellbeing Walks for Parent & Baby; a community of caregivers supporting one another through the ups and downs of parenthood.
'You've got this'

Community

Today on our walk we talked about community.

A woodland is a community, connected by mycelium. This fungus below the ground, connects plants together with its fine root  structure, enabling trees to share carbon, water and nitrates as well as send warning signals if there is danger!
Having a community as a mother is so important for our wellbeing! It doesn't just need to be one community, you may be part of many. Who is your community?

Autumnal Hues

Today, on our wellbeing walk, we looked at perspectives. We're often so busy looking down, we forget to look up!

This beautiful beech is full of autumnal hues. How when we look at different situations, there are so many shades!

Eling

A crisp and dry Wellbeing Walk at Eling today.  We stopped along the board walk, immersed within the reeds and took a moment to enjoy the stillness.

Hello

Hi, I'm Amy, your leader for the Wellbeing Walks for Parents and Babies.
Having a newborn is an exciting adventure, but it can sometimes feel lonely. Many groups are focused on the baby rather than the caregiver. Our wellbeing walks, however, are designed to support your wellbeing because we know that when we look after ourselves, we can support others better.
Each week we meet up at a location within the Waterside for a short walk. It is a chance to meet other parents with their babies, enabling you to foster new relationships, talk to others who are in a similar life chapter, take part in a mindfulness exercise and use nature to support your wellbeing.
Amy has 15 years of experience in environmental education, five of which have been spent as the Education and Youth Officer at the New Forest National Park Authority. She has firsthand knowledge of the benefits nature can have on wellbeing and recently trained as a Forest Bathing Practitioner.
